  • Marlena Folden D.V.M.

    Veterinarian

Dr. Folden is really excited to be a part of the new team here at Broadway Animal Hospital. She brings over nine years of veterinary experience to us. After graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008, she practiced emergency and general medicine in the Coachella Valley until 2014. Dr. Folden always wanted to return to Humboldt County to live, work, and play, as she was a previous HSU student athlete. She and her husband had also started raising their family here before leaving for veterinary school. Since 2014, she has worked at various local hospitals until recently, when the opportunity to purchase Broadway Animal Hospital became a dream come true.

“I love veterinary medicine. There are so many opportunities to engage in the aspects I love while I get to play a role in improving people and animal’s lives and bonds. You will find me always making important pet health decisions with you, the best we can.”

Emergency medicine, wellness, feline medicine, dentistry, and dermatology are a few of her veterinary interests.  In her spare time, you may find her hanging out at the beach or hiking with her family and three dogs. Other times, she might be curled up with any of her six kitties. And don’t forget the three turtles, Daisy, LT, and Lilly: she has many stories to tell about them.

  • Chris Pitts, RVT

    Veterinary Technician
I absolutely love veterinary medicine. The more I learn the more I realize that I am just scratching the surface of what there is to know. I began my career in the large animal field and transitioned to small animal medicine in 1995. It is wonderful to work for Broadway Animal Hospital where every doctor and staff member is fully invested in providing the best care for every patient.

  • Edgar Roberts, RVT

    Veterinary Technicians
Reptiles and exotics are definitely my passion. I have over thirty snakes of my own, as well as a dog. I spent a lot of time working in shelter medicine while I went to tech. school. It is wonderful to be in a combined small animal/exotics practice where my passion and my education can come together.
  • Shari Moenke

    Bookkeeper
I have been in the veterinary field for over twenty-five years. I enjoy supporting the human-animal bond by helping clients and patients receive the care they need. Many times a little moral support can go a long way.
  • Janette Mendoza

    Veterinary Assistant
My love for the veterinary world started in 2010 while I was working as a volunteer at a hospital in Los Angeles. Later, I held a reception position for 4 years until I decided to pursue my dreams and start studying to become a Veterinarian. August of 2015 I moved to Humboldt County to attend Humboldt State University and to work at Broadway Animal Hospital.e coin as a dog or cat becomes a family member.
  • Chloe Cunningham

    Veterinary Assistant
I spent several years working in an animal shelter prior to coming to a small animal hospital. It is so heart warming to see the other side of the coin as a dog or cat becomes a family member.
  • Halley Walsh

    Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist

Halley began working with animals in 2010 as a field biologist for the National Audubon Society monitoring endangered seabird species off the coast of Maine. After transplanting to Humboldt she began working in a small animal hospital in 2014. “It is such a privilege to be able to create relationships with animals and their human companions on a daily basis.”  When not at work she enjoys walking through the forest with her two dogs or cuddling up on the couch with her kitties.

    Leanna Yact'e

    Kennel Attendant
I love to interact with all the wonderful patients that come into Broadway Animal Hospital and the boarders at Cozy Cat Cottages. When I was little I wanted to be a princess. When I found out that 'princess' was not a job title, I decided to follow my heart and got involved in veterinary medicine. I started taking classes to become a Registered Veterinary Technician this Fall. I am so excited to learn more!
